About Chiropractic

Chiropractors regard the body as an integrative whole with the nervous system as the control system. Therefore, we treat from a whole-person approach (holistic) rather than seeing the body as isolated units.

The brain and spinal cord regulate millions of processes on a continuous basis throughout your entire body to allow you to adapt to your surroundings, to keep you healthy and to allow you to thrive, without you even thinking about it. Chiropractors stimulate the nervous system to allow optimal function and improved healing, we do so through movement of joints (mainly the spine) and muscles. Our approach does not include the prescription of medication as we want to give the body the best chance to heal naturally first. Treatment techniques are modified to suit each individual which makes it a great choice for people of all ages and conditions. A healthy and happy nervous system ensures that every process can happen in the right way at the right time and therefore improve your overall functioning. Although the majority of people consult a chiropractor for physical complaints, many choose chiropractic care to keep healthy and well.

We are a non profit organization that provides chiropractic care for people in Uganda that can’t afford healthcare. Our chiropractic project was established in 2019 by Dutch chiropractor Prisca Rompen DC, who still leads it today.  We help the Ugandan people who are in need of chiropractic treatment.

Partly thanks to our efforts chiropractic has been recognized and regulated as a profession by the Allied Health Professionals Counsel since 2020. This was a great leap forward for the profession. This is mostly contributed to the collaboration of three chiropractors who officially founded the Chiropractic Association of Uganda (CAU) in 2018.
